The living room is anchored by a curvaceous custom sofa made by J. Edlin Interiors and covered in Troika Velvet in Crème from Brunschwig & Fils. Apartments like this have more than enough glass, so the corner banquette is built right up against the window, anchoring the room. Banquette covered in black coffee angora mohair from Clarence House is paired with a pedestal table from David Sutherland and chairs from Nancy Corzine.

Richard Ginori china and vintage cobalt glassware contrast richly with the green suede tabletop and the dark coffee banquette. ("Of course in a real house you'd have to put glass on the suede," says Kemble.)

The inset wall next to the kitchen could have been used for a dining nook, but Kemble chose to turn it into a relaxed and elegant office area, complete with a wide-screen television.

An open kitchen plan like this lends itself to richer colors and patterns in the rest of the space — with all that light coming in through the windows and no walls dividing the space, you don't need to worry about deeper colors darkening the room.

The custom-made shower curtain is considerably longer than your usual bathroom accessory and is hung slightly higher than normal, adding the illusion of height to an otherwise vertically challenged room.

The master bedroom is pure, ethereal elegance, enveloped in silvery chinoiserie wallpaper and yards of silk and chenille, all from Brunschwig & Fils. The bed is hammered metal from John Robshaw. Transformation: Master Bedroom
The master bedroom's headboard and canopy appliqués were inspired by wallpaper motifs and created by J. Edlin Interiors, as were all curtains and upholstery in the room. Bed curtains lined in apricot silk create a soft glow that is flattering and warm. "It's like perpetual candlelight," says designer Celerie Kemble. As for the custom linens from Léron, "You just want to take off all your clothes and roll in them. You can't help it."
